LA Lakers forward Jarred Vanderbilt is expected to miss at least a few weeks with a right foot problem and could be sidelined for even more time after further evaluation.
Jarred will undergo more extensive consultation soon to determine the full extent of the problem and whether campaign-ending surgery could become necessary.
The Lakers forward sustained the problem late in the 1st half of his team’s 114-105 victory against the Boston Celtics. The player underwent X-rays at the venue, and they were negative, but Jarred is continuing to consult with medical experts.
Vanderbilt missed the 1st 20 matches of the campaign with bursitis in his left heel, but he has shown that he is getting in his best shape in the past few matches. In his organization’s last 8 clashes, the forward averaged over 10 points on 66% shooting, almost 6 boards, and 3 steals.
LA reserve center Jaxson Hayes called Jarred the “heart and soul” of the franchise.
