Lando Norris secured his first-ever victory at Albert Park in a dramatic, rain-affected Australian Grand Prix, narrowly holding off Red Bull’s Max Verstappen in a chaotic race that saw three safety cars.
Starting from pole, Norris controlled much of the race despite mounting pressure from McLaren teammate Oscar Piastri, who set multiple fastest laps before being instructed to hold position.

However, Piastri spun on lap 44 as the rain intensified, dropping down the order. A late charge helped the Australian recover to ninth place, overtaking Lewis Hamilton on the final lap.
Verstappen, who started third, capitalized on Piastri’s misfortune and late pit stops under the final safety car but ultimately fell just 0.895 seconds short of victory. Mercedes’ George Russell completed the podium in third.
Hamilton endured a frustrating Ferrari debut, finishing 10th and visibly annoyed by persistent radio messages from his pit crew.
