Inter Milan has secured their captain, Lautaro Martinez, for an additional five years, as confirmed by transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, citing the club’s president Giuseppe Marotta.
The official announcement of the new contract is expected to be made within the next few days.
Martinez’s previous contract, which was due to expire in the summer of 2026, has been extended, and under this new agreement, the 26-year-old forward will earn 9 million euros per season, making him one of the best-paid players in Serie A.
Martinez, who has been with Inter Milan since 2018, had an impressive 2023/2024 season, participating in 44 matches, scoring 27 goals, and providing 7 assists for the 20th title of the Nerazzurri. Martinez was linked with transfer to Barcelona and Manchester City, but it looks like he is concentrated on continuing his legacy at San Siro and becoming one of the biggest names in Inter history.
