Charles Leclerc took all the blame for his crash in Q3, which put an subsequent end to the session and interfered with many ongoing flying laps at that time.
The track became more difficult after gust of winds swarmed the track, but the Monegasque refused to take that as an excuse for his error.
“This is not an excuse. It’s difficult for everybody. So two days, two mistakes, same corner. So yeah, this is not acceptable and, yeah, I’m always very harsh with myself and today was just not good.”
Leclerc was quick to point that his mistake came at the exact same corner (Turn 4), where he spun off in practice on Friday as well.
He added that he has no clue where he will finish in the race and the aim for Sunday is a maximum push.
Leclerc’s teammate Carlos Sainz starts 3rd and commented that he would have had a real shot at pole had the red flags not come out.
