Messi is out of the squad for his nation's upcoming matches.

Lionel Messi will not be part of Argentina’s squad for their World Cup qualifiers vs. Brazil and Uruguay in the upcoming days, failing to make the final squad today.

Leo was featured in the initial 33-player roster at the beginning of the month despite concerns about his form. The Argentinian superstar missed 3 games for Inter Miami because of that, as the MLS team didn’t want to take any risks with potential injury.

After a tough beginning of the new 2025 MLS season with 3 games in 7 days, Inter Miami manager Javier Mascherano shared that the superstar will not play in the upcoming matches because of load management.

The head coach revealed Leo didn’t pick up a problem but instead kept him out of each match as a preventative measure.

Messi missed a total of 3 clashes, returning to the pitch vs. Jamaican side Cavalier FC in the 2nd leg of the Concacaf Champions Cup 1/8 finals.

Leo was expected to make the Argentia squad after being on the pitch vs. Atlanta United at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Georgia and even scored a goal but he was not featured.
