Leandro Paredes gave the lead for the Wolves near the end of the 1st half after he converted a penalty, as the Italian side receiver another penalty in the 66th minute which Paredes converted successfully to tie the aggregate score after AS Roma lost the 1st leg 2-0 at Olimpico.
However, a huge mistake after a corner led to Gianluca Mancini’s own goal in the 82nd minute, which meant that Leverkusen would advance to the final. The Wolves tried to score and tie the aggregate score again but failed, and Josip Stanisic netted in the 97th minute after Granit Xhaka’s to secure the German team spot at the final of the Europa League and for the phenomenal unbeaten run to continue.
