The entire NBA is waiting for Damian Lillard transfer, which would likely see him join Miami, but according to a report from ESPN, things are not as simple and the trade could take weeks, or even months to materialize.
The seven-time All-Star has made his desires crystal clear that he will depart the Blazers, the club he has spent the whole of his career, and his likely destinations is the Heat.
But the two side are yet to come to definite conclusion and will not be in any hurry due to the convenience of the NBA calendar.

“It could take months, it could take weeks,” Wojnarowski from ESPN said. “I think the absence of a real deadline lurking on a Damian Lillard trade—there’s no trade deadline coming, there’s no NBA draft, there’s no July 1 free agency about to start—all those landmarks in the NBA calendar give teams motivation and give teams parameters to get big deals done. The next real deadline for any of these teams is the start of training camp in late September.”
