Liverpool beat Burnley 2-0 to top Premier League

The Reds are back in the 1st place in the EPL after today’s victory.

Liverpool won against Burnley 2-0 at Turf Moor, and Klopp’s side is back in the league’s 1st place, but Arsenal can return to the top if the Gunners defeat West Ham on Thursday.

Everything started perfectly for the away side as Darwin Nunez scored in the 6th minute after Cody Gakpo’s assist. Liverpool continued to dominate, but they missed many chances, and the result remained only 1-0.

Diogo Jota returned as he replaced Darwin Nunez in the 84th minute, and the Portuguese forward scored in the 90th minute after Luis Diaz’s assist to double his team lead and secure the 3 points and the 1st place after the end of Boxing Day.

Liverpool are unbeaten in 12th consecutive matches in the Premier League, and Klopp’s record on Boxing Day remains perfect – 6 victories from 6 matches.

Burnley are 19th in the league with 11 points after 19 games and they are 5 points behind 16th Everton.
