According to Dietmar Hamann, Liverpool could look up to the opportunity to sell 125 million-pound forward Alexander Isak to Barcelona after the end of the season. There are also questions about Florian Wirtz’s future at Anfield.
Asked about Alexander’s situation with the Swedish striker scoring just 2 goals in 15 matches and struggling with fitness, Hamann shared: “I don’t believe that the Reds will sell anyone during the winter transfer window, but if Isak didn’t impress during the spring, they would probably discuss the chance to sell him to teams like Barcelona in the summer. There will be huge interest in him, as he showed what he can do while playing for the Magpies. The form of Hugo Ekitike will be a factor in such a decision, because if he continues to improve, Alexander will have a tough time making it to the starting 11.”
Wirtz is yet to score his debut goal for Liverpool since his transfer in the summer from Bayer Leverkusen: “If the Reds fail to qualify for the Champions League, I think that the future of Isak and Wirtz will be considered in the summer,” added Hamann as if Liverpool fail to qualify for the UCL, they would have problems with the financial fairplay.
