The Reds showed real menace and gave their inferior opponent no chance

Liverpool cruised past Leicester City in a commanding fashion 4-0 in a friendly, played in Singapore.

Goals in a matter of eight minutes from Darwin Nunez, Bobby Clark and Diogo Jota gave the Reds a comfortable cushion early on in the first half.

A second half strike from Ben Doak rounded up the final scoreline and finished the job for Jurgen Klopp’s men.

New signings Alexis MacAllister and Dominik Szobozlai featured and impressed again for the Reds, while Nunez seems to be picking up the pace.

Last year’s mega signing from Benfica struggled to adapt to life at the Premier League and featured only in half of the games in his first season. Klopp stated that if he is to make a break in the first team he must learn how to defend.

“I don’t think I have to tell our fans, it’s pretty much traditionally – or historically – for us that usually players for us, especially offensive players, [need time],” the Liverpool boss said.

“I think the signs Darwin showed already last season were really good. Injuries and the red card were not helpful in the start but it’s all good. The ticket into the team will be the readiness for defence because you never hear about a team being really successful with sloppy defending, it just will not happen.”
