Trent-Alexander Arnold equalized in the 80th minute at the Etihad

Manchester City couldn’t get their fourth win in a row in the Premier League as the champions finished 1-1 at home versus second-placed Liverpool.

This is a great chance for Arsenal to come back on top of the standings as the London side is trailing by two points from the Citizens and one from the Red.

Later today the Gunners face Brentford away and three points will send them back on first place.

In the 20th minute in Manchester, Curtis Jones made a very risky pass back to Alisson, who was pressured by Haaland, but the Brazilian goalkeeper handled the situation and cleared the ball away.

So it was until the 27th minute when the champions opened the scoring. Alisson did not kick the ball in the best way, which remained in his half, where the ball was taken by Nathan Ake. The Dutchman went between two Liverpool players and then found Haaland on the edge of the box.

The Norwegian was able to skilfully pass between Matip and captain Virgil van Dijk, after which he fired a low shot into the bottom left corner of Alisson for 1-0. With the goal, he improved another record, becoming the player who scores the fastest 50 goals in the Premier Leaguehistory. He did it in 48 games, beating Andy Cole, who needed 65 games.

In the 68th minute, the Citizens sent the ball into the opponent’s goal for the second time, when Alvarez crossed from a corner, and in front of foal Akanji prevented Alisson from playing with the ball, which was put into the net at the far post. However, referee Chris Kavanagh saw the foul and did not let the goal stand.

Liverpool waited for their chance and equalized ten minutes before the end of regular time. Luis Diaz crosses from the left and found Salah on the other side. The Egyptian immediately passed to Trent Alexander-Arnold, who entered the penalty area and with a wonderful strike with his right foot left no chance for Ederson.
