Liverpool defeated Newcastle 3-2 with a goal in the 100th minute by the 16-year-old Rio Ngumoha, who entered the pitch at St. James’ Park a minute earlier as the Magpies played with 10 men and tied the result after trailing 2 goals, but in the last second conceded to lose.
Newcastle started the match better and had a few chances to open the score in the 1st half hour, but the biggest problem for the Magpies was the lack of a goal scorer, and they failed to convert any of their chances.

Liverpool needed only 1 chance, and Ryan Gravenberch scored with a fantastic shot outside the penalty area to secure the lead for the away team in the 35th minute.
Things became even worse for the home side when Anthony Gordon received a red card after VAR review for his foul against Virgil van Dijk at the end of the 1st half.
The Reds began the 2nd half in the best way possible by scoring seconds after the start as Gakpo found Ekitike, and he doubled his team’s lead.
However, the Magpies didn’t give up, and Bruno Guimaraes’ header made the home team trail only a single goal as the Brazilian received a phenomenal assist from Valentino Livramento.
William Osula tied the result in the 88th minute, but Newcastle didn’t survive until the end as 16-year-old Rio Ngumoha scored the winner in the 100th minute.
