Liverpool have expressed their full support for Luis Diaz and his father after the later was kidnapped in Columbia and there is still no information about him.
Colombian authorities are searching for Luis Manuel Diaz after armed men abducted him and his wife.
Fortunately, his mother was found on Saturday in Barrancas, but Luiz Manuel Diaz is still being searched.
“We have to try to support him as much as we can, a lot of things are out of our hands,” says assistant manager Pepijn Lijnders.
“We hope the authorities can find his dad, we pray for that. As long as we do the right thing for him, he is one of us.
Colombian police are offering a reward of about £40,000 for information regarding the father’s whereabouts.
Diaz missed Liverpool’s 3-0 win over Nottingham on Saturday and is likely to be absent against Bournemouth in the EFL Cup on Wednesday.
