Mbappe’s future in the French capital has been uncertain, to say the least, and his contract expires at the end of the 2023-24 season. That is where Liverpool are hoping to strike as the 24-year-old will be a free agent.
The relationship between Mbappe and PSG has turned sour in the summer with the player even refusing to come to the training ground. However, things seems to have settled under new manager Luis Enrique and he still remains instrumental in Enrique’s plans.
It is still unknown whether the Frenchman would want to sign a new contract or he will leave elsewhere.
L’Equipe add that it would be a ‘surprise’ to see Mbappe at Anfield next season but add that the complexion could change by next summer.
The report adds that Mbappe will ‘carefully consider all options’ before making his decision – and that Real Madrid will be one of the favourites to land his signature.
