VAR did not overturn an incorrect decision to didn’t count Luis Diaz’s goal for offside.
PGMOL announced the decision to not count the goal as “a significant human error.”
Yesterday, the Premier League side from Merseyside labeled the VAR decision “unacceptable” and that it cost the team a potential 3 points.
The side demands an investigation with full transparency and concrete steps that will ensure that this will not happen again in the future.
Darren England, the main official at fault for the disallowed goal, and his assistant – Dan Cook – were punished and will not be officials at any match this week.
In this campaign, 6 audio recordings have been released from PL matches, including Wolverhampton’s penalty appeal after the Red Devils goalkeeper Onana slammed into Sasa Kalajdzic.
