Spaniard Bernabe Zapata Miralles will face another Argentinian in the quarters
Home favorite Diego Schwartzman failed to handle the atmosphere as well as Spaniard Bernabe Zapata Miralles, who checked into the quarter-finals with a 6-1, 6-3 win.
The world number 74, who broke his Argentinian opponent seven times, needed one hour and 18 minutes to produce one of the biggest victories of his career.
Miralles will play Francisco Cerundolo – another local favorite, in the quarter-finals. Cerundolo reached the last eight after comfortable 6-2, 6-1 win over Spain’s Jaume Munar.
