Dallas Mavericks superstar Luka Doncic is set to sign a new NBA contract worth a record-breaking $346 million starting from next summer. The Slovenian has already met the criteria of playing 65 games in the current season and is now eligible to be selected for the All-NBA Team, which, if achieved, would allow the guard to become the highest-paid basketball player in the NBA beginning in the 2025/26 season.
Doncic’s supermax contract can only take effect from the following year as per league rules, requiring the player to have accumulated seven years in the NBA. Currently in his sixth year, the Dallas leader won’t be eligible for the new contract until the end of his sixth season among the league’s elite.

Experts unanimously agree that Doncic is a shoo-in for the All-NBA Team. He’s having the strongest season of his career, averaging 34.0 points, 9.1 rebounds, and 9.8 assists, leading the Mavericks to a direct playoff spot. The Texans hold the fifth spot in the Western Conference standings with a 45-29 record.
