He wants RedBird to make big steps during the summer transfer window

AC Milan technical director – Paolo Maldini, for the second time in recent weeks addressed the owners of the club through the media. The legendary defender said after the loss to Inter (0:1) that “now is the time for investment” – a clear hint of the passivity of Gerry Cardinale and the RedBird fund in the last two transfer windows.

The Rossoneri have lost to their city rivals twice in the space of a week in the Champions League and now have to fight for a place in the top 4 of Serie A. However, if that is not achieved, it is possible that coach Stefano Pioli and Maldini may leave the team.

“We have a shared vision with the owners. If I wanted a stronger lineup, I would have made a different choice in the market last summer. We have a project we are developing together. It takes time, but we know that we are Milan. We have an idea and we want to build a young and talented team. It’s risky to sign young players, always.”

“Reaching a Champions League semi-final is something we have to make the most of economically. We need to invest and finish in the top four to hope to repeat this trip to the semi-finals,” Maldini told Mediaset TV.
