After his Denver Nuggets “got trashed” in a 145-118 blowout defeat vs. the NY Knicks, manager Michael Malone was certain that he never wants to see his players play like that again this season.
“F— that man, no. Our team is not flushing,” the Nuggets head coach answered a question. “You don’t flush when you get trashed, you don’t flush when you allow almost 150 points, you don’t flush when you didn’t do everything that you could on the court, I’m not flushing anything.”
New York led with double-digits after the 1st quarter and made its lead 23 points at halftime and even had 30 points lead during the match as the Knicks shot almost 61% from the floor. Their 45 assists matched the single-game organization record set vs. the Cavs on November 24th, 1979.
The defeat dropped Denver to a shocking 5-4 at home in the current campaign. Nuggets evened for the 2nd-best home record in the past campaign at 33-8.
Jalen Brunson finished with 17 assists for the Knicks while also notching 23 points for the victory, while OG Anunoby finished with a career-high 40 points.
“Russell Westbrook, he’s vocal, but we need more than Russ. I need Nikola Jokic. I need Jamal Murray. I need guys that have been here in that starting lineup to be vocal.”
