Manchester City won 2-0 against Wolverhampton at home and ended a series of 4 straight matches without a victory in the Premier League, in which the Sky Blues drew 3 times and lost the derby against Manchester United.
The victory comes after Pep Guardiola’s side suffered another defeat a few days ago in the Champions League when they lost their visit to Bodo/Glimt.
Interestingly, Erling Haaland was benched, but without him, the Citizens scored twice in the 1st half and secured a comfortable advantage.
The 1st goal in the clash came after only 6 minutes when Omar Marmoush, who played in Erling’s place, scored after Matheus Nunes, while the new addition in January, Antoine Semenyo, scored his debut goal for Man City in the extra time of the 1st half to make his team’s lead 2 goals.
In the 2nd half, Manchester City chose to control the tempo of the match as Erling Haaland entered the pitch in the 74th minute in the place of Rayan Cherki.
The Sky Blues are only 4 points behind leader Arsenal after today’s victory, but the Gunners have a game in hand as they face Man United tomorrow.
