Manchester City president Khaldoon Al Mubarak addressed several key issues in his traditional end-of-season interview on the club’s website, discussing the future of manager Pep Guardiola, the ongoing accusations against the club, and ambitions for the next season.
Regarding Guardiola’s future, amid speculation that the upcoming season might be his last at Manchester City, Al Mubarak emphasized a collaborative decision-making process:
“Decisions regarding his [Guardiola’s] future are decisions we will make together. I have no doubt that, as always, we will find the right decision that works for both Pep and us.”
Al Mubarak also addressed the 115 accusations brought against Manchester City by the Premier League, expressing disappointment over the situation:
“Of course, it’s disappointing. I feel for our fans and everyone connected with the club that these charges are continually mentioned. We have to respect that there is a process to go through, and we are going through it. Yes, it seems to be taking longer than everyone hoped, but as I have always said, let’s be judged by the facts, not by claims and counterclaims.”

Reflecting on City’s historic achievement of winning four consecutive Premier League titles, Al Mubarak highlighted the rarity and difficulty of the feat:
“Since 1926, five teams have attempted to win the title four times in a row. Huddersfield, Arsenal, Liverpool in the 80s, and then Manchester United tried twice. None of them succeeded. In over 100 years of English football, no team has ever managed to win four consecutive titles. So, when that becomes clear, you start to truly appreciate the scale of the achievement – the difficulty, the challenge, the perseverance required.”
When asked what comes next after this achievement, Al Mubarak stated: ‘The fifth consecutive title.'”
