The Red Devils failed to win after allowing goal in the last seconds.

Manchester United and Lyon finished without a winner – 2-2 at Parc Olympique Lyonnais and who will advance to the ½ finals of the Europa League will be decided in the 2nd leg at Old Trafford.

The home side secured the lead in the 26th minute after an awful mistake from Andre Onana. The Red Devils goalkeeper fumbled the free kick from Thiago Almada and saw the ball slip into his net.

However, Manchester United tied the result in the last seconds of the extra time of the 1st half when Leny Yoro headed the ball inside the left post to tie 1-1.

In the 2nd half, the French team had 3 fantastic chances to score but blew them all away. Georges Mikautadze twice missed the chance to score, and once Corentin Tolisso also didn’t score after Onana saved his shot.

Alejandro Garnacho had a chance to score in the 79th minute, but this time Lyon’s goalkeeper denied him. Despite that, the Red Devils secured the lead near the end of the regular time. Bruno Fernandes provided a phenomenal assist to Joshua Zirkzee, who headed the ball into the home side’s net.

However, that was not all as Rayan Cherki scored in the extra time for the final result of the match – 2-2.
