The Citizens have paid £77m (90m euros) in transfer fee, which makes Gvardiol the second most expensive defender in the world after Harry Maguire.
The 21-year-old spent 2 years at Leipzig and impressed with his performances. His displays earned him a call to the international team and he became a key figure in Croatia’s journey to the 2022 World Cup semi-final.
“I have always dreamed of one day playing in England,” he said.

“To be doing so now with Manchester City – after the season they have just had – is a real honor for me.”
The Croatian has been a long term target for Pep Guardiola and the Spaniard has finally managed to land his desired player. Gvardiol is viewed as a long-term prospect at City with the Treble winners hoping to establish him as one of their main center-backs.
