Bayern Munich’s coach Thomas Tuchel has openly admitted that Sadio Mane fell short of the expectations, that were place upon him after his arrival from Liverpool last summer.
The Bavarians are preparing to sell Mane for only 20 million euros, despite acquiring him for double that price last year.
Speaking in his first press conference ahead of the new season, Tuchel reflected on the striker’s difficulties at his new club.
“The competitive situation is extremely high, the starting position is not easy for him.” Tuchel said.
“The player knows that too, he knows my opinion and the opinion of the club.”
Bayern have another reason to sell Mane and that is to gather enough funds to facilitate a desired move for Harry Kane.
Ever since Robert Lewandowski departed the club, the No.9 position hasn’t properly been filled and Kane looks the perfect candidate for it.
