Easton was picked 28th overall at this year’s NHL draft, notched 20 goals, and earned 53 points in 68 games with the OHL’s London Knights in the past campaign. He also appeared in 20 postseason matches, earning 21 points in them.
The Canadian winger was the Maple Leafs’ 1st draft selection under the new GM, Brad Treliving.
The Canadian NHL franchise received the 28th overall selection, which was Boston Bruins, from the Washington Capitals at the exchange deadline in a deal that sent Rasmus Sandin to the organization from the US capital.
Easton was named to the OHL’s 2022-23 2nd all-rookie selection.
