Canada manager Jesse Marsch, an ex-candidate for the U.S. men’s national team head coaching position, has shared he has “no interest” in replacing Gregg Berhalter as USA head coach.
Berhalter was dismissed 3 days ago after the USA’s poor performance at the 2024 Copa America that they hosted as the team failed to advance from the group stage after losing against Uruguay and Panama.
“I will continue to be Canada’s manager, I have no interest in the U.S. opening,” Jesse shared with the media ahead of Canada’s Copa America 3rd-place playoff vs. Uruguay in Charlotte, North Carolina.
“And to be honest, unless there’s a big shift in the organization, I don’t believe that I’ll ever have any interest in leading the USMNT in the future. I’m happy where I’m at the moment. I couldn’t be more satisfied in terms of what it’s like to work with the leaders in this organization, and I love the players in my team.”
