Portugal's head coach is very happy with his superstar.

Selecao manager Roberto Martinez was full of praise for captain Cristiano Ronaldo after he netted in yesterday’s World Cup qualifying victory against Hungary.

Cristiano scored again as he earned a penalty for his nation and converted it in his country’s 3-2 win over Hungary. That was the superstar’s 39th goal in World Championship qualifying, as that puts him as the joint-highest scorer ever alongside Guatemala’s Carlos Ruiz. Ronaldo has at the moment 3 more than his biggest competitor, Leo Messi.

The 40-year-old superstar has 141 goals in 223 matches for his national team, and his performances earned him huge praise from his head coach in Portugal.

After the victory, Roberto said this about his captain: “Cristiano Ronaldo? I don’t like to talk about individual performances, but the fact is that our captain scored 3 goals in 2 matches in the past few days. Ronaldo leads with his example and behavior both on the pitch and outside, and he is a perfect captain.”
