World champion and current leader in the driver’s standings Max Verstappen set the tone in the British Grand Prix this weekend at Silverstone, lapping the fastest in the first free practice.
The Dutch driver set a time of 1.28.600, which is quicker by 0.448 seconds from Sergio Perez. The surprise of the sessions was Williams’ Alex Albon, who finished third with a stunning lap of 1.29.089 ahead of Fernando Alonso, Charles Leclerc, Esteban Ocon and Carlos Sainz.

One of the home-favorites Gorge Russell with Mercedes complained about vibrations in the fast section of corners and he finished 14th. His teammate and fellow Brit Lewis Hamilton didn’t do much better setting the 12th fastest time, but both of them used the medium tires instead of the fastest soft compound.
