With the beginning of the San Francisco 49ers’ postseason journey set for Saturday, RB Christian McCaffrey returned to training today after healing from a right calf injury.

The running back sustained what he and his franchise described as a “mild” calf strain in a Week 17 victory vs. the Washington Commanders. Christian did not appear in a meaningless Week 18 defeat vs. the LA Rams as he wanted to recover and be ready for the playoffs.
He returned today when the top-seeded 49ers opened their week of training for the NFC divisional round against the Green Bay Packers.
McCaffrey was a full participant in the practice and is at his best ahead of the playoff clash on Saturday, according to his manager.
“I think McCaffrey is geared up and ready to go, the same way our running back was in the past season,” San Francisco boss admitted.
