Mike McCarthy is set to undergo an operation on his appendicitis, which may rule him out for Cowboys’ highly anticipated game against the Eagles.

The Dallas team announced that their coach has been hospitalized after complaining from abdominal pain and will likely be released later in the day.
Defensive coordinator Dan Quinn, a former head coach in Atlanta, appeared in front of reporters on Wednesday in McCarthy place.
There is a high chance McCarthy makes it for Sunday’s game and that is why Quinn has not yet addressed a contingency plan for play-calling.
The Cowboys (9-3) trail the defending NFC champion Eagles (10-2) by a game in the NFC East. Dallas takes a 14-game home winning streak into the rematch and needs a victory to maintain realistic hopes of taking the division crown from Philadelphia.
