Matthew Tkachuk did everything to score in the 3rd period and to make his team trail only 1 goal and to keep the Florida Panthers’ hope of forcing OT alive. However, the next player who got to the puck was Connor McDavid — who notched to put the match away.
Such was how Game 5 of the Stanley Cup final went for Florida. Even when they played well, it wasn’t enough. And now the Panthers will fly back to Canada as the intrigue in the matchup is more alive than ever.

Florida gave up 2 power-play goals and a short-handed score as Edmonton got 3-0 lead at Amerant Bank Arena and in the end the Canadian team won 5-3 in Sunrise, FL. It was the 2nd straight time the Panthers was thwarted in the opportunity to lift the Stanley Cup, after Edmonton trashing them 8-1 in Canada in the past weekend.
Game 6 is at the end of the week.
