Conor McGregor is set to make his return to the octagon after nearly three years away, facing Michael Chandler at UFC 303 in Las Vegas on 29 June.
The former two-weight champion, McGregor, aged 35, hasn’t fought since July 2021 and has suffered defeats in his last two bouts. The UFC officially announced the clash against American Michael Chandler following UFC 300 in Las Vegas on Saturday.

McGregor boasts a record of 22 wins and six defeats in his MMA career, while his opponent, 37-year-old Chandler, holds a record of 23 wins and 8 losses.
In his most recent fight in July 2021, McGregor suffered a leg injury in a defeat to Dustin Poirier. Prior to that, he was stopped by Poirier in the second round in a bout six months earlier.
Since becoming the UFC’s first simultaneous two-weight champion in 2016, McGregor has only secured one victory. Chandler, on the other hand, has been involved in several thrilling bouts since making the switch from Bellator to the UFC in 2021, despite losing three of his five fights. His losses include defeats against then champion Charles Oliveira, Justin Gaethje, and Dustin Poirier.
The match-up between McGregor and Chandler was initially confirmed early last year, when they served as opposing coaches in the UFC’s Ultimate Fighter reality TV series.
