The Scot, however, admitted that the dressing room has been 'toxic at times'

Scott McTominay has firmly stated that the players have full support for under-fire boss Erik ten Hag, despite some issues in the dressing room.

The Red Devils face a vital week ahead as they go against Bayern Munich for the Champions League before travelling to Anfield to face bitter rivals Liverpool.

McTominay has opened up on the situation inside the dressing room, fully backing the Dutchman and his staff.

“It is the players’ responsibility, first and foremost, the players know that as well,” said McTominay. “We have had many amazing players and right now we are at the stage where we have big characters in the dressing-room.”

“It is not just a case of like some of the other managers where it has been a little bit toxic at times, the boys are firmly behind the manager. That is the way it will stay.”

“We have got an amazing coaching staff as well so it can get lost in translation with what the players think and what is said behind closed doors, we just want to do well for the football club.”
