Max Verstappen clinched his fourth consecutive World Drivers’ Championship by finishing fifth in the Las Vegas Grand Prix. Although the race victory went to Mercedes’ George Russell, who skillfully held off teammate Lewis Hamilton, Verstappen’s points were more than sufficient to secure the title.
Russell took the checkered flag, while Hamilton climbed impressively from 10th on the grid to finish second, demonstrating strong form for Mercedes. Ferrari’s Carlos Sainz and Charles Leclerc took third and fourth, respectively, while Verstappen’s fifth-place finish ensured his championship win. His main rival, Lando Norris, finished sixth for McLaren, leaving him 63 points behind Verstappen with only 60 points left to play for in the remaining races.
With this triumph, Verstappen joins the ranks of four-time champions like Alain Prost and Sebastian Vettel. Only legends Lewis Hamilton, Michael Schumacher, and Juan Manuel Fangio have achieved more titles, placing Verstappen among the elite in Formula 1 history.
