George Russell overcomes steering wheel problems to set the fastest lap
Both Mercedes drivers were the fastest in the first practice session before the Miami Grand Prix this weekend. George Russell finished on top of the timetable with 1.30.125 ahead of his team-mate Lewis Hamilton with 0.212 behind.
Third finished Charles Leclerc with Ferrari ahead of Max Verstappen, Carlos Sanz and Pierre Gasly.
Niko Hulkenberg lapped his time to finish 9th before spinning in the second sector and hitting the wall, which brought out the red flag with a little over 20 minutes to go in the session.
