Benjamin Pavard with a double at Allianz Arena

Bayern Munich flew past Augsburg 5-3 in their German Bundesliga fixture on Saturday.

Augsburg started the match better and scored inside three minutes of play. Mergim Berisha was in the right place in the box to fire a rebound into the right corner. The early surprise didn’t worry the Bavarians and they scored for 1-1 in the 15h minute. Winter signing Joao Cancelo controlled the ball on the edge of the penalty area and pulled the trigger from tight angle to find the net.

Just four minutes later the home side made the comeback. Sadio Mane with acrobatic scissor kick found Pavard, who hit amazing first-time shot into the right corner of the goal.

Pavard scored his second in the 35th minute for 3-1 and just ten minutes later Leroy Sane got to the rebound to produce a header for 4-1 before the half-time break.

In the 59th minute Matthijs De Ligt conceded a penalty, which Berisha scored to limit the damage to 4-2. The fifth goal for Bayern was scored 15 minutes before the final whistle when Cancelo sent precise cross to Alphonso Davies, who fired a quick shot inside the right post.

Augsburg got their third in the stoppage time thanks to Irvin Cardona.

Bayern are leading the Bundesliga with 52 points, having a three-point advantage to Borrusia Dortmund.
