Inter Miami CF superstar Leo Messi, took home the Ballon d’Or for a record 8th time, as he beat competition from the Sky Blues forward Erling Haaland after winning with his country Argentina the World Cup in Qatar in 2022.
The Argentinian superstar (36) becomes the 1st MLS-based footballer to claim the prestigious award, as the biggest thing that decided the trophy to land in Lionel’s hands was the triumph with Argentina.
