Sacramento Kings coach Mike Brown was pleased with Alexander Vezenkov’s performance in his team’s win over the Cleveland Cavaliers. According to him, “the sky is the limit” for the Bulgarian and added that Vezenkov is getting better.
Vezenkov equaled his best scoring game in the NBA with 11 points and adding 2 rebounds on Monday.
“Sasha has a great feel for the game. He made some very important shots today. He also opens up serious spaces for others while he’s on the court and confuses opposing defenses. Guys get open shots just because of his presence. He makes a lot of those little things,” Brown said after the game.
“Sasha is physically strong and can fight under the basket. The more he plays, the better he gets and the more he helps us. In defense, he understands the instructions more and more. He works very hard and I can say that the sky is the limit for him. He’s slowly starting to find his rhythm with most of the minutes he’s getting,” the Sacramento coach added.
King’s star De’Aron Fox, who is building a great partnership with Vezenkov, also praised the new addition to the team.
“I think he’s having more fun. He came in and he didn’t know anybody, I think he came by himself right now. It’s a different change, a difficult one that none of us have been through. Moving state to state is not the same as moving across the ocean.” Fox said.
“I feel like he’s starting to enjoy it. He’s making shots and it takes the pressure off him. Now he’s enjoying basketball and that’s great for him and for us,” the guard added.
