AC Milan owner Gerry Cardinale, is urgently looking for new minority investors, the local newspaper “La Verita” informed.
The media claims that ‘RedBird’, owner of the Rossoneri, must repay in the near future the loan of 550 million euros, which was the basis of the purchase of the club and was given by the previous owners from the American investment fund Elliott. Its maturity date is in August 2025, but the Americans wanted it to be paid off as soon as possible.
“La Verita” adds that inquiries have already been received from various companies that are interested in purchasing minority shares in the team, including the Qatar-based Investcorp, which was in the race of buying the majority stake of the club alongside RedBird in 2022.
Cardinale is urgently looking for additional funding for the project for a new stadium, which in the long term will give Milan much more serious income and financial security. “RedBird” has been the owner of Milan since June 2023, when they bought the club from the investment fund “Elliott”.
