The negotiations between Milan and Newcastle regarding the transfer of Sandro Tonali are in their final stage and the deal will be closed very soon. The Magpies will pay the Rossoneri around $80 million with the two clubs still finalizing the size of the bonuses and the payment structure.
The management of Milan is already considering how it will use this money to rebuild the squad. A number of names have been tossed around, among which the most frequently mentioned are that of Davide Frattesi, who is rumored to be Tonali’s direct replacement, and Marcus Thuram, who should strengthen the attack. The latter will be brought in as a free agent, but funds are needed for his salary and signing bonus.

According to Gadzeta dello Sport, Milan are also discussing the sensational idea of Romelu Lukaku, who has to return to Chelsea in the beginning of July, as his loan contract at Inter expires. The Nerazzurri want to keep the Belgian, but don’t have the needed budget. His price is already much lower and Chelsea would accept an offer of around 40 million. Inter cannot afford this amount, but Milan can now separate them after the transfer of Tonali. In this case, the most important thing is whether Lukaku himself would agree to move to the city rival of Inter.
