Minnesota benches QB Mullens for rookie Hall

Rookie Jaren Hall will be from the 1^st minute on the field at the weekend’s match of his team vs. the Green Bay Packers, manager Kevin O’Connell shared today, marking the franchise’s 4^th change in starters since Kirk Cousins tore his ACL in Week 8.

Jaren will replace Nick Mullens, who went 0-2 while throwing for 714 yards and 4 TDs, along with 6 picks, in a controversial 2-match stint as the team’s starting quarterback. The defeats pushed Minnesota to the edge of the NFC postseason picture, and they now have only a 20% chance of making it to the playoffs.

The rookie, a 5th-round selection at this year’s NFL draft, was Cousins’ reserve at the time that the starting QB suffered his season-ending problem. Hall made 1 start against the Atlanta Falcons but needed to leave the field in the 1^st quarter after sustaining a concussion.
