The Minnesota Timberwolves and Mike Conley Jr. are very close to an agreement that will allow the guard to return to his ex-team as a free agent.
The parties are now working on the timing of Mike’s re-inking.
The guard started a few days ago as part of the Wolves, but was traded to the Bulls as part of a 3-team exchange.
However, Chicago quickly sent him to the Hornets in another deal. And Charlotte chose to waive him. Because the experienced guard was traded twice before being waived, Conley Jr. is free to ink back with the Timberwolves.
Mike has already been in the league for 19 years, but he has started to decline as a point guard. Conley Jr. has started 9 of the 44 matches he has played in for Minnesota in the current campaign and is averaging career lows of almost 4.5 points and almost 3 assists.
Free agent guard Mike Conley Jr. plans to return to the Timberwolves, per @ShamsCharania.
