Ukraine’s 2nd half comeback, led by Viktor Tsyhankov and Mikhaylo Mudryk, secured their place at UEFA Euro 2024 after eliminating Iceland.
Albert Gudmundsson gave the lead to the Nordic country in the 30th minute after Hakon Arnar Haraldsson’s assist. Roman Yaremchuk scored to make it 1-1 in the 39th minute, but his goal was disallowed for offside, and Iceland had a 1-0 lead after the 1st 45 minutes of the match.

However, at the beginning of the 2nd half, Viktor Tsygankov netted in the 54th minute after Georgiy Sudakov’s assist to tie the clash. Mykhailo Mudryk scored the winning goal and completed the comeback of his country in the 84th minute after Georgiy Sudakov’s 2nd assist in the match.
Ukraine will be in Group E with Belgium, Slovakia, and Romania at the upcoming European championship in Germany in June. Iceland will miss out on another huge tournament.
