Ex-Philadelphia defensive coordinator Jonathan Gannon returned to the city and got his biggest victory yet as Cardinal’s manager. That was Philly’s 4^th defeat in December – and 2^nd at their stadium as the losses set a huge setback to their standing in the NFC.

Philadelphia (11-5) could have clinched the NFC East with victories vs. the Cardinals and the Giants on the season finale. Now, the Cowboys could end up at the top of the NFC with a victory next week against the Commanders, and the 49ers have secured the 1^st place in the conference.
