Former UFC star continues to search for extravagant boxing clashes

Nate Diaz has once again set his sights on an unlikely challenge, this time calling out boxing great Terence Crawford.

The UFC veteran has made a career out of chasing unexpected matchups, often blurring the lines between realism and spectacle. While no longer part of the UFC roster, Diaz remains one of the sport’s biggest stars and he is now once again ready to draw attention with high-profile bouts outside the promotion.

Crawford, meanwhile,  comes right after career-defining win over Canelo Alvarez last weekend, proving he is one of the finest fighters of his generation.

Diaz has now thrown his name into the mix of fighters, wanting a match against him with a typically blunt post on social media, tweeting: “Crawford next [target emoji].”

Nate Diaz left the UFC franchise in 2022 as he pointed out his desire to explore other combat sports. He became a free agent after his final UFC contract fight against Tony Ferguson in September 2022 and has since entered professional boxing, including matches against former YouTuber Jake Paul and Jorge Masvidal. While he has not fought in MMA since leaving the UFC, Diaz has expressed interest in returning some time in the future if he has a chance for a title fight.
