The Brooklyn Nets had a massive overhaul of the organization’s roster, trading their best basketballer, Mikal Bridges, to the NY Knicks and agreeing a deal with the Rockets to return the team’s 1st-round selections lost in the James Harden exchange.

After finishing in places between postseason and the draft lottery since Durant and Irving left, Brooklyn changed the narrative and now have 16 1st-round selections through 2031, featuring 4 picks in the next year’s draft.
Brooklyn was receiving offers from several franchises for Mikal, but his desire to compete with his 3 ex-Villanova teammates in an organization with chances to win the title – and New York’s confidence that he could be their player for a long time – made the Knicks trade their draft selections in a huge deal.
Brooklyn GM Sean Marks and New York resident Leon Rose escalated talks swiftly, and the trade happened within hours after that.
