Manuel Neuer is thinking about signing a new contract with Bayern Munich despite expectations that he could retire next year. The 39-year-old legend, who has been the main goalkeeper of the Bavarian giants since 2011, is still playing at his best level and has kept 3 clean sheets this campaign.
Manuel inked a deal earlier this season to stay until the end of the campaign next summer, but he still wants to continue. Neuer now thinks about the possibility of continuing his career with Bayern and remaining the number 1 goalkeeper at the team, as the Bavarians assured him that it’s up to him to make that decision.
The legendary goalkeeper signed with Bayern from Schalke 04 and has played 569 matches for the club, as he triumphed with 12 Bundesliga titles and lifted the Champions League twice. Even at his age, Manuel remains a key player in the squad as he has already kept 3 clean sheets this season in 8 games. However, he ruled out playing for the German national team and doesn’t plan to return to the national team, but he wants to keep playing for Bayern as long as possible.
