The New England Patriots QB depth chart is back to where it began, as the franchise aims to ink Bailey Zappe to the 53-man squad today and dismiss Matt Corral.
The #Patriots are signing QB Bailey Zappe to the 53-man roster, per source.
So after two weeks of drama, it appears New England is back to the original depth chart and Zappe will back up Mac Jones on Sunday vs. the #Eagles. pic.twitter.com/9w7MLbuH7I

Bailey, who spent the last week with the organization’s practice squad, will be the 2nd choice for the quarterback position after Mac Jones in Sunday’s campaign-opening match vs. the defending NFC champ Philadelphia Eagles.
Zappe had been released at the final roster cutdown at the end of the last month, and 2 days later, the Pats claimed QB Corral on waivers from the Carolina Panthers, giving him Bailey’s spot on the roster.
But he was missing from the New England’s practice yesterday, which was a great sign that Zappe would replace him.
Manager Bill Belichick also admitted yesterday that the organization would choose Bailey because he has greater experience and better chemistry with the Patriots players.
