New England’s best WR Bourne has torn ACL

Further tests today revealed that the NE Patriots’ leading receiver, Kendrick Bourne, tore his right ACL.

The torn ACL ends the player’s 7^th campaign in the league, which was on pace to be his greatest, as he will be out of action for 6 up to 8 months.

Bourne suffered the problem on the 1^st play of the 4^th quarter in his team’s 31-17 defeat against the Miami Dolphins when he caught a pass and was tackled by CB Eli Apple. The receiver remained on the field as he was visible in a lot of pain.

Kendrick entered Week 8, rated 11^th in the league’s new receiver tracking metrics, and has totaled a franchise-high 37 receptions for 406 yards and 4 TDs through 8 matches. Bourne has played almost ¾ of the offensive snaps in the current campaign.
