The nose of the Scuderia Ferrari gets a "dimple" on high speed straights
The first part of the Bahrain tests in Formula 1 is in the books and a lot of news came out during these couple of hours on the track for all new 2023 cars.
One of the main talking points was the strange deformation of the Ferrari new SF-23. The car shows a little bend on the top of the nose, which commentators already nicknamed “the dimple”.
The carbon fiber in this part of the car is obviously way thinner than the rest of the body in order to save every possible gram of weight. That leads to a little “dimple” on the high speed straights, but under braking it restores its regular shape.
